Available for almost all smartphones (other than Bada and Meego), it works in the same way as BBM and even provides delivery and read receipts.









2.Way2SMS

The popular free SMS service is now available for Android phones. The official app can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free; users only need to provide their login details in order to access their accounts on mobile.





3. Nimbuzz
The Nimbuzz app works with both smartphones and feature phones. They even have a desktop client for Windows and Mac.
First time users need to sign up for a free Nimbuzz account after which you can start adding people to your contacts.
4. Rocketalk
You can't have a conversation or do a video chat over Rocketalk — but you can use it to send free text messages, photos and videos to anyone who uses Rocketalk. It's available for Android and as a Java app which works with almost every feature phone around.
